Scripture Reading…Hebrews 11:30-40
Devotion
How many times have you listened to someone tell their story and thought, “Wow! I wish God would move in my life like that!” I want you to know that He is moving in your life! You may not notice it because you are living it! Like when you see an old friend, you can notice the changes that have occurred over time in them, but not so much yourself. God is at work in your life. You have determined to develop the Fruit of the Spirit in your life, (Galatians 5:22-23) and there’s no way to develop those Spiritual characteristics without His leading! You share a connection to your Father. He sees you as His child, and He will never leave you, (Hebrews 13:5-6).
Your story is ongoing. In fact, your story is His story! God is the central figure of your story, and we would do well to consider ourselves as “supporting actors.” It’s OK to not understand how everything connects. You know the one who does know those things. So, live in such a way that magnifies Him. Live out your part of His story so that everyone knows who is the real Hero, the real central figure that this story is all about! Isn’t that a lesson we could take from Hebrews 11:30-40? We see faithful people living into the connection they have with the Father. Even to the point of physical death, but life eternal!
When we accept our role as unfinished works of grace, we relieve ourselves of the pressure to make sense of it all. We can draw closer to the Lord, closer to Jesus. We can strengthen the connection God made with us and become all He ever planned for us to be. His child, safe in His arms, for eternity.

Ask God to do something that seems impossible this week. Maybe it’s a bad situation that needs improvement, a broken friendship that needs to be restored, or something else. You may never see it happen but have faith that God hears your prayer.
the faith stories of Hebrews 11 are amazing and wonderful examples for us. More importantly, linking our stories through God’s sacrifice of his Son to the Faith journey of these people from the Old Testament shows His plan and how patient and loving he was through those many years.
i see an importance in understanding what real persecution is and how the grievances that we see against Christians In the US are nothing in comparison to what our brothers and sisters experienced in the past, and it’s nothing compared to what may happen in the future.
These men and women went through the unimaginable, and they’re listed in the Bible with one of the most incredible and amazing phrases that a believer could have said about them. The Holy Spirit says in these verses that ‘…the world was not worthy…’
may we live in a way That the Holy Spirit may say about us, ’the world is not worthy’
Hebrews 11:34 (the middle part NLT): Their weakness was turned to strength. That's the part that stuck out most to me, I have plenty of that. I know too that I have my strengths, but it seems my weaknesses are what always stick out in my eyes. God uses my weaknesses to turn to strength. I simply must follow Him.
Nothing is impossible with God. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Verses like this increase our faith and end up on T-shirts and coffee mugs but do we really believe them? I think one of the ways we show that we actually believe them is by asking for those things that seem impossible in prayer. But as James says we need to ask in faith without doubting. We serve a really really really big God. Let’s pray prayers that reflect that.
